BIOGRAPHY Jan was born and grew up in rural Gloucestershire. She gained a Humanities Degree - studying English and Social Sciences, and then a PGCE from Bristol University before becoming an English teacher. She began painting professionally when her children were young, exhibiting widely, mostly in watercolours, in Sussex and Kent including Brighton, Rye, Hastings and Tunbridge Wells. After completing a Foundation Diploma, specialising in painting, at West Kent College, she began working on a larger scale in acrylics and mixed media. Since then her work has further evolved and she now works mainly in oils on canvas. Jan has continued to exhibit in the Home Counties. She recently moved back to Gloucestershire.
